Reflecting on Music Video Challenge

My role in the making of our 'In The Sun' re-shoot was being the choreographer. This ment I had to learn all the dances in which the subjects in the video made. I had to observe the video closely in order to work out each movement. Following on from this I then had to mirror those movements myself, making sure I got each action correct in order to produce the most realistic, precise interpretation of the video as I could. Not only did I have to learn all the dances myself, I then had to teach them too the class, making sure that each partisapent knew the dance well enough for the scene in which they were involved in. This was quite difficult as I had to describe everything that I had just learn to the exact movement to others, also some people understood it more than others therefore I had to make sure everyone was going at the right pace and was comfortable and confident in everything they was doing, the ones which struggled where the one I spent more time with however I think most people catched on quick enough. There was not much trouble with co-operation.
As well as a choreographer, I also volunteered to be the lead singer which was involved in near enough every scene. As much as I lack confidence, I felt like I needed to help out the class and contribute to the task given. It was more of an easier option rather than having to have big debates about who the role would be given too so I thought I may aswell do it. It was a big role to play and challenged my confidence alot. I think I gradually loosened up and got more comfortable infront of the camera as we got further into it. I would of prefered to do it rather than having someone who really didn't want to which would then lead to the video seeming less effective and believable. Over all I enjoyed playing this role and working with everyone, it was fun and I probably would do it again if I'm not too embaressed by the outcome.
